Bacalar, Quintana Roo, Mexico. This is the village and the 35 mile long fresh-water lagoon. It is a paradise albeit fraught with danger, violence and crime. Overall Google Earth picture is of the Yucatan Peninsula starting from the northern border of Belize and Ambergris Caye and going as far north as Merida and Cancun.
